Death Valley Canyon Rappel

I finally got around to getting this video off a friend and so here it is.

First a little bit of backstory...

To my Mom's dismay, I skipped out on Thanksgiving last year.

Why?

I hopped in a car and drove 8 hours to Death Valley to do a canyon trip with friends.

So what made this trip worth missing out on Thanksgiving lunch*?

This video is a good example...

and here is the picture from the bottom looking up...

*Thanksgiving lunch is a tradition my sister made up. It consists of sitting at the kitchen counter and watching my mom carve the turkey into thin slices while gobbling up the pieces as they make their way to the serving plate.

**Special thanks to Terry and Gilly for the video/picture.

I've had my car since 2001.

Since then I've done every maintenance on it possible.

Now that my car's old, I need to change the spark plugs.

It's funny how hard things used to be when I first started...

I had trouble just lifting the car up.

But with the help of my friends and a little patience, the car has come a long way.

The best part is the hatchback. It can fit EVERYTHING.

Also 30mpg can't be beat.

I'm very happy with my Acura Integra.

Birthday Steak at Arcadia

I hardly post pictures of food.

It usually makes me drool even though I'm the one who took the picture.

But since this was a special occasion and it's not everyday you get to dine at Arcadia, I felt like sharing.

Starting with the appetizer.

Burrata Cheese Appetizer at Arcadia

Burrata cheese appetizer with arugula. I love anything with arugula.

Rib Eye Steak at Arcadia

New York Steak. In the distance is the Rib Eye Steak with a river of wild mushrooms and truffled mac'n'cheese in between.

The mac'n'cheese was so worth it.

It took me awhile to find this again and after sifting through my emails I finally found it. Now I'm just waiting for this to become available in the States.
